mission statement

The Swiss Association for Shared Parenting is committed to issues concerning the relationships between mother, father, and child. From the child's perspective, their parents are their natural primary caregivers, responsible for their well-being – both the mother and the father.

Therefore, we want to preserve and strengthen the role of both parents – on a social, economic, political, legal and interpersonal level.

Shared parental responsibility is therefore the starting point for all considerations concerning the child. It is indivisible and thus independent of whether the parents live in the same household or not.

As the Swiss Association for Shared Parenting

  • We promote the relationship between both parents and their children, even if the parents do not live together
  • Let us create and strengthen societal awareness of the importance of shared parenting for the well-being of children
  • We want to align the regulatory environment (laws, authorities, courts) towards preserving and promoting shared parenting
  • We strive for equality between both parents in all political, legal, social and societal matters
  • We promote all measures that support or even enable the practice of shared parenting in working life
